Post-Summer Chit Chat

Hi guys! Thought I’d just come on here for a little chit chat. I haven’t written a rambling post in a while and so much has happened that I want to share!

First of all, I had such a lovely summer with my family and close friends. I went to France with my boyfriend (which I have blogged about here) that was AMAZING, and I also had a relaxing week in the Scottish Highlands with my family. We explored Loch Ness and although I didn’t see Nessie, I still had a fab time and it was so nice to be with my family. It’s one of those holidays that you only really appreciate when you’re back home and the only scenery you have are high rise grey buildings, compared to the amazing woodlands and Lochs of Scotland!

Apart from that I’ve been relaxing, getting my hair done, reading more than I’ve ever read in my life, just nice stuff. I also saw one of my best friends before she flies off to Australia to live (check out her amazing Instagram here) which was so sad, but I know she’ll absolutely love it there. I guess I just wanted to make the most of my last summer before starting teaching (eeeek!) and the real work kicked in.

So last week I started my teaching course. It’s a one year long SCITT course and by the end, I should have a PGCE and a QTS which is so scary and exciting to think about! I only considered teaching last year but once I did placements and really thought about it I honestly can’t imagine myself doing anything else. I love working with children and making them the best they can be so teaching was the obvious answer. The people I’ve met so far are all so lovely and it’s only a small course so I imagine we’ll be like one big family (hopefully).

I don’t just want to be a primary teacher all my life though, I have my sights set high on being head of something, or even an educational psychologist! I’m so excited for this chapter in my life and even though it’ll be the hardest year of my life, it’ll also be the most rewarding.

On top of this, I’ve started with a network marketing company and I am LOVING it. I got one of those messages on Instagram asking if I was interested (you know the ones) and at first I said no. I thought: not for me, not my time, I don’t have the confidence, it’s a scam, I don’t want to sell toothpaste. But then I looked more into it and my views on it completely changed. So I gave it a chance and messaged back, saying I was interested and I’d like to give it a go.

And then my whole world shifted! I honestly can’t believe how good the company is and how supportive everyone is. It’s honestly NOT too good to be true (like I originally thought) and you can really make a lot of money and strong friendships if you work hard. Yesterday I put in my first customer orders through and made enough money that I can treat myself to a nice shopping spree! How crazy is that?! I’ve only been going for a couple of weeks and I just feel so much more confident. Trust me, this is not a scam. And it’s not just selling toothpaste either! If you’re interested – comment or message me on Instagram (@beautytalkswithmeg), or email me: and I’ll get back to you. ANYONE can do it and EVERYONE has the ability to make a bit of extra money and get so much confidence and positivity out of it. I dare you to give it a go!

Speaking of positivity, I’ve really been working on my positivity and gratitude. I bought this Positivity Book in TK Maxx and it’s been so good to take a few minutes every day and do little tasks to make you feel a bit happier. It’s a bit like Wreck This Journal and makes you write 5 songs that make you happy, things you like about yourself, the best sights/smells/sounds you’ve ever experienced, that sort of thing. I didn’t think I’d ever need something like this till now! It’s been really good to reflect back on life and take the positives out of everything. I know it’ll be so good to read back on a bad day too!

At the moment I’m just so happy, content, and positively working on myself. I still have bad days or moments I slip into pessimism, but that’s okay. I’m so excited for what the rest of this year has in store for me! I’ve never felt so good.

Let me know how you guys are! I’d love to know! What are you doing? Have you started anything new? Leave a comment – I’m nosey and want to spread a bit of positivity around.

All my love x
